Youth+Engagement

Youth+Engagement is the politically neutral educational program of the DSJ. It is aimed at young adults between the ages of 16 and 25 who are involved in a civil society youth organization or a youth organization with a political focus. The program is specifically tailored to the resources, needs, and interests of young adults.

Youth+Engagement consists of five practice-oriented training modules covering volunteer management, organizational management, self-management, communication and public relations, as well as political processes, tools, and advocacy. Young committed individuals can participate in one or more of these trainings and acquire hands-on knowledge applicable to their everyday engagement.

The workshops are led by experts in the respective fields and offer space for sharing experiences, peer learning, and networking. Participants are empowered to build sustainable organizational structures, make their concerns visible, and have their voices heard in society and politics – which in turn contributes to the long-term strengthening of the Swiss militia system.

Easyvote-school

easyvote-school is a programme for teachers at secondary level II. With interactive, ready-to-use teaching materials, political education is strengthened, teachers are supported as multipliers and the political participation of young adults is promoted. easyvote-school makes teaching materials available online in an easy-to-understand and neutral way. Teachers can also use the easyvote app "votenow" in the classroom. The app combines voting and elections with information and education.

engage-Ateliers

During the participatory and interactive engage workshops, secondary level I pupils are taught how the municipality works and what local participation opportunities they have based on their specific concerns. In line with the peer-to-peer approach, the workshops are led by trained young adults. At the end of the teaching unit, a local politician comes into the classroom to discuss their ideas with the young people.
