Young Talents Meet International Brass Professionals
The Hirschmann Masterclass 2026 brought together ten young, highly gifted brass players from across Europe with internationally acclaimed musicians. Under the artistic direction of composer Daniel Schnyder, “Brassology” delivered a versatile concert program featuring new compositions and arrangements for brass instruments.
Sound Variety and Ensemble Playing
The masterclass focused on the tonal and stylistic versatility of brass instruments. Through individual lessons, ensemble rehearsals, and joint concert preparation, the young musicians received intensive support from seasoned mentors. The direct link between lessons and live performances proved especially valuable, as participants played an active role in shaping the ensemble and preparing for the stage.
Performances with Standing Ovations
In August 2026, rehearsals and concerts took the ensemble to four venues across France and Switzerland. Highlights included performances at the Église de Montmirey-le-Château, the Château de Roche in Arc-et-Senans, Casino Baden, and the Festival Stravinsky in Voreppe. Every concert, along with the masterclass’s public showcase, was met with standing ovations.
A Lasting Stage Experience
“Brassology” seamlessly combined high-caliber individual coaching, intensive ensemble work, and professional concert experience into a unified artistic journey. For the young musicians, the masterclass offered an opportunity to take on responsibility within the ensemble, present their work under professional conditions, and gain invaluable stage experience. The overwhelmingly enthusiastic audience response confirmed the project’s success.
