Young talents meet global icons
In the summer of 2025, he 13th Hirschmann Masterclass once again brought together young, highly talented musicians with internationally renowned artists. Under the direction of Daniel Schnyder, the project ‘Silkroad’ was created, a musical journey along the ancient trade routes between the Orient and the Occident.
Discovering new musical landscapes
The participants experienced how classical music blends with Oriental rhythms, Arabic and Chinese sounds, and elements of jazz to create a fascinating new sonic landscape. Traditional instruments such as the nay, the pipa, and Oriental percussion blended with a string quartet and a saxophone – a fusion that fostered improvisation, virtuosity, and cultural bridges.
From Burgundy to Lucerne
The rehearsals took place in Burgundy, with concerts in Montmirey-le-Château and Pontailler-sur-Saône. The highlight was the sold-out final concert at the KKL Lucerne as part of the Lucerne Festival, which was met with great enthusiasm by the audience.

The Hirschmann Masterclass 2025 once again demonstrated how music transcends borders and inspires young talents to explore new paths.
