Mutual understanding in Europe

In autumn 2021, the Swiss Youth Music Competition Foundation (SJMW) (Swiss Youth Music Competition Foundation) organised an international Hirschmann Masterclass Europe for the first time as a pilot project at Weinberg Castle in Linz.

The European affiliate organisations prima la musica (Austria), Young people make music (Jugend musiziert - Germany) and the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (emcy) were also involved.

The Hirschmann Masterclasses Europe are directed at outstanding first prize winners between the ages of 15 and 22 in the final competitions of the chamber music category from Switzerland, France, Italy, Austria, and Germany. The nationality of the participants is of no relevance.

By crossing national borders, the Hirschmann Foundation hopes to make a small contribution on behalf of European understanding. The best way to do this is to organise cultural events for young people.

Concept

The young participants are talented musicians who dream of studying at university. The Hirschmann Europe's aim is to give these participants the opportunity to explore not only their instrument but also their individual personalities.

The professors are professionally trained musicians with many years of pedagogical experience.
