Networking at the Bern University of the Arts

The third Get Together of Hirschmann scholarship holders took place on October 3, 2014. It was hosted by the Bern University of Applied Sciences, Bern University of the Arts, at Papiermühlestrasse in Bern. Around 100 UAS students who were awarded a Hirschmann scholarship and other guests participated in the event. The program of the event had primarily been designed by the scholarship holders themselves.

Since 2008, 250 UAS students have been awarded a Hirschmann scholarship.

The scholarship holders, their guests and invitees from the UAS were welcomed by Prof. Herbert Binggeli, Rector of the Bern University of Applied Sciences. Prof. Binggeli represents theRectors' Conference of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences (KFH) that has been partnering with the Hirschmann Foundation since 2008 in the framework of the scholarship program for Master students.

Lukas Gernet (on the piano) is an Arts in Music Master student at the Lucerne School of Music (Major: Jazz / Piano). Samuel Leipold, Arts in Music Master student in Lucerne himself (Major: Jazz / Guitar), accompanied him on the bass. Both students are Hirschmann scholarship holders.

Peter Wieser, former director of the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland, has been responsible for preparing scholarship award decisions since 2008 on behalf of the Rectors' Conference of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences. He has always fulfilled this task with extraordinary expertise and personal commitment.

Scholarship holder Sarah Lerch is a Master student in Arts in Physical Theatre at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri in Verscio. She presented a scene of her physical theater project.

Marc Hänggi, scholarship holder and Master of Science student at the University of Applied Sciences FHS St.Gallen, presented his field of study (Information Systems) and thanked the Hirschmann Foundation in the name of all scholarship holders.

Scholarship holder Simon Meier is a Master student in Molecular Technologies (Analytical Chemistry) at the FHNW School of Life Sciences in Muttenz. He was talking about his experiences during his studies and the practical benefits of the scholarship program.

Pawel Marciniak studies Classical Trumpet and Conducting at the Bern University of the Arts. He was granted a Hirschmann scholarship and is preparing for his Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy.

Dr. Eugen David, President of the Hirschmann Foundation, expressed his appreciation to everyone involved in the organization of the third Get Together. The Get Together 2014 presented an opportunity for scholarship holders to expand their network beyond their own university and to meet students from other universities.
