Commemorating Peter Wieser

We are mourning for Peter Wieser, who unexpectedly deceased at the age of 69, on Mai 27, 2015. At the time, he was in the middle of preparing the Hirschmann scholarship award decisions 2015.

At the end of 2007, the Hirschmann Foundation formed a partnership with the Rectors' Conference of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences (KFH), now called swissuniversities. The partners thereby agreed on the scholarship program for UAS Master students.

Representing the KFH, Peter Wieser was assigned with the task of putting into practice the Hirschmann Scholarship Program. As former director of the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland, he was very well connected with all Swiss UAS.

Peter Wieser set up the scholarship program’s homepage (www.hirschmann-stipendium.ch) together with Prof. Monika Wohler, head of the department of Social Work at the FHS St.Gallen, and her team. Furthermore, he reliably organized the processing of scholarship applications..

The main focus of Peter Wieser’s work lied on keeping contact with scholarship applicants, as well as on preparing and selecting scholarship applications for the Hirschmann foundation board. It was with great enthusiasm that he maintained the varied relationships with scholarship holders, representatives of the UAS and the Hirschmann Foundation. He was of great help and advice to everyone.

The foundation board of the Hirschmann Foundation thanks Peter Wieser for his excellent work since 2008 in the service of the Hirschmann Scholarship Program. We will hold him and his work for the UAS students in grateful memory.
